Melbourne Central is one of the city’s busiest multi-level CBD shopping destinations. Its owners, GPT Group, had the vision to install a new ceiling on the third level, which would add to the premium quality of the area.
Diadem oversaw end-to-end management of the project, ensuring the design was feasible while remaining within strict budget requirements. From conception to implementation, the Diadem team understood the project’s nuances, timeline and budget.
Diadem’s expert design engineers brought together more than 700 different ceiling pieces comprising brass-plated steel to the millimetre. Working in this space also meant navigating complex wiring which was already in place.
Limited access to this floor saw the introduction of a crane and the closure of Little Lonsdale Street. Large trade teams worked at night to install materials, including four kilometres of painted stainless-steel cable.
The ceiling was completed within the 25-day program.
