Shaping a
return to the office

Embracing a new age of hybrid working inspired the design of Deloitte’s new headquarters in Sydney. Diadem’s integrated approach to wayfinding elevated the experience for everyone making their way back to the office.

Diadem created a wayfinding system for Deloitte’s 14 floors of Quay Quarter Tower, including four client experience levels and ten workplace levels, with a focus on collaboration and connection.

A new home
for an industry leader

Deloitte is a leader across a broad portfolio of financial consulting and advisory services. As part of a national workplace relocation strategy, its Sydney office took over 14 levels of the award-winning and highly sustainable 47-storey Quay Quarter Tower (QQT).

The vision of Deloitte and architect studio Hassell was to provide an unparalleled employee and client experience that went beyond iconic harbour views. As well as four levels of dedicated client experience spaces designed for a prestigious first impression, a series of vertical villages connected by central spiral staircases were created to foster greater staff collaboration.

Diadem was engaged to design and execute a wayfinding system to match, building on combined knowledge from several previous workplace projects with Deloitte.

Collaboration informed not only the design of this project but also the process. Diadem managed continuous stakeholder engagement, bringing all design partners together. The result is a wayfinding system that integrates directly with the interior finishes as a result of a close working relationship with Hassell.

Diadem’s balance of creative, technical and management expertise and integrated structure was an ideal fit for this project, allowing all client, design and builder relationships to be managed seamlessly.

Diadem delivered wayfinding that was intuitive, holistic and on-brand. Together with the remarkable new interiors, the experience offers a compelling incentive for staff to spend more time in the office.

With this in mind, Diadem’s sign systems were designed for a high ratio of first-time users who may not frequent the office regularly.

The impression for visiting clients is equally remarkable, and emblematic of the building’s place as the jewel in the Deloitte workplace crown.
