In 2006, Melbourne hosted the eighteenth Commonwealth Games, with more than 4,000 athletes from 71 nations coming to the city to compete – and over 750,000 spectators lining up to see them compete over 11 days.
For the event organisers, this was a large-scale logistical undertaking with years of planning involved. The challenges were significant, from accommodation for athletes to venue security, traffic management, event schedules, branding and TV broadcasts.
The requirement for a vast team of professionals to make such an event possible was paramount – including Diadem as wayfinding consultants.
