NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE AGENCY

Leading
accessibility design

A wayfinding suite for the NDIA’s new headquarters required a focus on the needs of every user – something Diadem does on every project.

Diadem’s integrated services model led this project from the wayfinding strategy through design development and construction supervision.

Intuitive
and accessible

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and the Department of Human Services (DHS) are Australian Federal Government bodies working with the community to deliver outstanding disability support services.

NDIA engaged Diadem to deliver a user-centric and legible wayfinding solution at its new headquarters in Geelong that would welcome and accommodate users of all abilities.

The result is a simple yet effective wayfinding suite – covering both digital and static signage – that guides staff and visitors through the nine-level building.

Welcoming
to all

Diadem provided an intuitive and user-centric wayfinding strategy that both delivers on the NDIA and DHS aspirations and complements the building’s architecture.

The suite adopts a numerical room identification system and digital and interactive content zones at heights suitable for easy reach and readability.

Several signage features were designed to assist visually impaired persons by activating the senses. The suite is tactile and encourages users to touch through a host of unique textures. Braille messaging also features on every sign throughout the building.

From the concierge desk to destinations across the headquarters, Diadem’s wayfinding assists all users at every stage of their journey.
