ONE EDEN PARK

Shaping a new
approach to wayfinding

How do you help people navigate a place they’ve never been, without saying too much?

Here, simple type, clear symbols and design in step with the architecture lead the way.

Diadem took design cues from the building’s irregular gridded structure by Architectus to create a unique and ownable approach to the project’s wayfinding, which included non-illuminated signs and typographic applications from entryways to stairwells.

A clear path
from the start

One Eden Park is located in Macquarie Park, a booming commercial and industrial hub in Sydney’s north-west. As part of a campus-style environment—and a destination unfamiliar to many first-time visitors—a considered approach to wayfinding was essential.

Diadem was engaged by project managers Touchstone and the site owner, Kador, to develop a site-wide strategy and signage system that would support seamless movement across multiple entry points, including pedestrian access, parking, and loading areas. The architectural concept by Architectus inspired a complementary design language that felt both visually distinct and grounded in purpose.

Design leads
the way

As always, the project commenced with a thorough analysis of the site and its users’ needs. Taking cues from the building’s expressive, irregular grid, Diadem developed a graphic language that responded directly to the façade’s forms and patterns. This architectural rhythm became the backbone of the signage system, informing everything from layout to placement.

Simple materials and a restrained approach were used throughout — from non-illuminated signage to straightforward typographic treatments. The result is a unified and integrated wayfinding system that reinforces the building’s design intent without distraction.

Just the
right type

The selected typeface meets all wayfinding legibility requirements, with clean, unadorned letterforms that nod to the potentially data-led character of building occupants. The type was used across everything from pedestrian directionals to stairwell identification, where bold, high-impact information is essential. Diadem also created a series of custom pictograms in the same visual style, reinforcing consistency and delivering a refined graphic system across the entire precinct.

Close collaboration with the building team helped ensure the design intent was realised across materials and placements—an outcome not always guaranteed. The result is a signage system that strikes a balance between architectural integrity and practical clarity, delivering lasting value for the client, future tenants and daily users.
