Uniting four
island resorts

On behalf of Singapore developer Pontiac Land, Diadem was engaged by the agency Eight Partnership to create a wayfinding strategy that would bring together four five-star island resorts in the Maldives under one destination brand.

Each of the four islands in Rah Falhu is run by separate hospitality operators: Patina Hotels, Capella, Ritz Carlton and the staff campus. The challenge was to create a wayfinding experience to match these luxury offerings, and in doing so, intuitively connect the islands.

Design inspired
by the islands

The concept design for the wayfinding signage was purposefully minimalistic and took cues from the smooth textures and unique forms of driftwood, a naturally occurring part of island life.

Each sign is different, taking on the shape of a piece of driftwood. Beautifully finished fabricated letters contrast with the timber surface and create a naturally elevated sense of arrival for the islands.
