Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre is a state-of-the-art council-run facility in one of Melbourne’s inner-northern suburbs, committed to promoting health, wellbeing and lifelong learning.
Darebin City Council had decided to build a new centre that would not only meet the changing fitness needs of the community, but would also target net zero emissions. As a 6-star Green Star-rated building, it would set a benchmark for sustainability as an all-electric, eco-friendly swimming pool.
Diadem prepared a wayfinding strategy for the centre, followed by wayfinding designs, tender documentation and design guardianship during construction.
Diadem’s key objective at every stage was to enhance the experience for all. Rather than simply communicating information, the wayfinding needed to contribute to an easy experience for every user.
